Parlons!
Let's talk. Nobody in between.
Private chat with no company in the middle. Your words are sealed on your device and carried by relays that people like you run. No sign-up, no phone number, no account with anyone.
Android · Mac · Windows · Linux · iPhone with an account · Raspberry Pi
One question decides what you install.
Do you want to chat on this device, or have one account on every device? Both keep your identity yours. Neither puts it on anyone else's server.
On this device
Install the app. It creates your identity there and then, as 24 words, and you are chatting a minute later. The phone or computer helps carry the network when it safely can.
One account on every device
Run a Parlons account with one command on a machine that stays on, then pair your phones and laptops to it. The same chats everywhere, and messages wait while a phone is off. The only way an iPhone can be reached.
One command. One scan. Nobody in between.
Paste one line into a terminal on a Mac, a Linux box, a Raspberry Pi or a VPS. It installs Java if it has to, fetches the newest release and checks its checksum, registers a service that survives reboots, and ends by drawing the QR code your phone scans.

Parlons! 0.6.145 and Parlons Cloud 0.2.90, captured from the release builds with two demo identities talking over the live relays.

Privacy that comes from how it is built.
Sealed end to end
Every message is encrypted on your device for the one key that can open it, and signed by yours. A relay carries a sealed blob and a routing key, nothing else.
No account with anyone
Your identity is 24 words you hold. No server can reset it, sell it or hand it over, because no server has it.
Several relays at once
Your phone attaches to several relays run by different people. Lose one and the others still carry you.
Ticks that tell the truth
Two ticks come from the other person's own device, not from a relay. Messages to someone offline wait in a mailbox until they are back.
Your address is a key
Where you are connected changes. Who you are does not. A permanent MAX# address reaches you on any device.
Nothing to take on trust
The source is open. The desktop app is signed and notarized, and every release carries checksums. The authors collect nothing.
Nobody runs it. Everybody does.
Phones outnumber servers, so Parlons asks phones to help, carefully: on Wi-Fi, while charging, and never at the cost of your own messages. A computer that stays on can do more. A server does the most.
Holds sealed mail for people who are offline, answers lookups and signs delivery receipts. It cannot read any of it.
Every phone, by default. Pauses on low battery. The phone gets a real public address, so contacts reach you one hop shorter. Parlons Desktop proves its port from outside before it advertises it.
On Wi-Fi, while charging, if your router opens a port.Carries other people's sealed traffic on port 9535. Parlons Desktop has a switch for it too.
Phones: Wi-Fi, charging, battery at 60% or more.An always-on account can relay for others on TCP port 9501, every hour of the day.
Your own account with --relay.One process keeps many people's accounts online. Each of them can leave at any time with an encrypted backup.
A small server for friends and family.Your identity is also a wallet.
The same 24 words hold Minima. Pay a contact from inside the chat, in MINIMA or in MxUSD, the Minima dollar token, and the payment travels the same sealed path as the message. No exchange, no custodian, no address to copy by hand: the person you are talking to is the address.
Every feature, step by step.
Three manuals, written from the apps' own code: every button, every setting, every command.
